Ruben With His Boys at Iximche
If you call Ruben for transportation, you should also ask him for his recommendations for what to see while traveling in Guatemala. I never would have discovered the Mayan Ruins of Iximche without his input. I also appreciate that I can set up times to travel within the country without waiting on a public shuttle or Chicken Bus. When Ruben drives you go when you want and where you want. If you only have a week or two in Guatemala the time you might spend waiting for a shuttle to pick up 15 passengers (often an hour or more) and then waiting your turn to be dropped off. (another hour) makes a drive of only 2 - 4 hours take a full day sometimes. You can save the best part of a day by booking with Ruben. He still has his old phone (number below), but also try 5146-7080.
Ruben has driven our teams to both coasts, Tikal, Copan Honduras and more. His recommendation for a place to stay next to the Copan ruins was perfect for our group. We had a beautiful night, lots of nice people and a short walk to the ruins.
Volunteer Team Traveling With Ruben
Ruben is the guy who knows what is happening, for example demonstrations that will block the highways, and he knows how to get around safely.
After working with Ruben for 7 years he remains the most responsible and on-time transportation in all of Guatemala.
